March Break and Summer Camps
At OnCare Community Services, our March Break and Summer Camps are specially designed for children and adolescents with developmental disability and complex mental health needs. These camps offer a fun, safe, and inclusive environment where participants can enjoy their school holidays while engaging in activities that promote social interaction, creativity, and personal growth.
Themed Weeks: Each week of camp is centered around a specific theme, such as nature, arts, science, or sports. These themes guide our activities, ensuring that each day is filled with exciting and diverse experiences that capture the interest and imagination of our participants.
Skill-Building Activities: We incorporate activities that focus on building life skills, including communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. These activities are designed to be engaging and enjoyable, helping participants develop confidence and independence in a supportive setting.
Outdoor Adventures: Our camps feature plenty of outdoor activities, from nature walks and scavenger hunts to group games and sports. These activities promote physical health, teamwork, and an appreciation for the outdoors, all while providing a fun and active way to spend the day.
Creative Workshops: We offer a variety of creative workshops, including arts and crafts, music, and drama. These workshops encourage self-expression and allow participants to explore their artistic talents in a fun and nurturing environment.
Social Interaction: Our camps emphasize social interaction through group activities, team challenges, and collaborative projects. These experiences help participants build friendships, enhance communication skills, and enjoy the camaraderie of being part of a group.
Sensory-Friendly Environment: We understand the sensory sensitivities of children with autism, and our camps are designed to be sensory-friendly. We provide quiet spaces, sensory breaks, and activities that cater to different sensory needs, ensuring that all participants feel comfortable and included.
Special Guest Events: Throughout the camp, we invite special guests—such as local artists, athletes, or educators—to lead activities and inspire our participants. These events add an extra layer of excitement and variety to the camp experience.
Trained and Compassionate Staff: Our camp counselors are trained professionals who specialize in working with children and adolescents with autism. They are dedicated to creating a positive and inclusive camp experience where every participant feels valued and supported.
Safe and Structured Environment: Safety is our top priority. We maintain a high staff-to-participant ratio and follow strict safety protocols to ensure that all participants are well-supervised and cared for throughout the camp.
Inclusive and Adaptable: Our camps are designed to be inclusive, welcoming children of all abilities. We adapt our activities to meet the needs of each participant, ensuring that everyone can fully participate and enjoy the camp experience.
Parent Communication: We keep parents informed with regular updates on their child’s camp experience. We encourage open communication to ensure that the camp meets your expectations and your child’s needs.
