Skills Hub
Welcome to the OnCare Skillz Hub, where we empower individuals with developmental disabilities and complex mental health needs through targeted skill acquisition. This unique day program is dedicated to helping participants achieve their developmental milestones by providing tailored support and engaging activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
At OnCare Skillz Hub, we focus on equipping participants with valuable skills that enhance their independence and creativity. Our offerings include:
Leather Sandals Making: Learn the art of crafting stylish and durable leather sandals. These programs emphasize practical techniques such as pattern making, cutting, lasting, and stitching to create durable, custom footwear.

Fashionable Bead Making: Discover the techniques of designing and creating beautiful bead jewelry. Fashionable bead making is a vibrant skill, which involves blending traditional techniques with modern fashion trends. Opportunities for learning include hands-on workshops at OnCare, covering everything from Indigenous beadwork to contemporary accessories.

Materials Recycling Programs: Gain insights into eco-friendly practices by repurposing materials into innovative projects. Training programs focus on specialized equipment handling, safety compliance, and efficient material management. Expertise in selective demolition, dismantling techniques, and identifying reusable materials in construction.

Farming: skill acquisition at OnCare is available through structured apprenticeships, hands-on workshops, and specialized training programs, largely driven by high demand for labor in rural areas. Opportunities range from entry-level positions to specialized training in dairy, cattle management, and beekeeping, with many programs providing pathways to permanent residency.

Community participation: is an OnCare program closely linked through local, non-profit, and library-led initiatives designed to foster social connection, employability, and settlement for newcomers. Opportunities include volunteering, specialized workshops, and community-driven projects that help residents build practical and professional capabilities.

“Creative art kitchen creations” usually refers to ways of blending art, design, and everyday kitchen items to make your cooking space more expressive, functional, and visually interesting. At OnCare you'll learn how to turn ordinary kitchen elements into something artistic and personal.

Here’s a clear breakdown of what that can look like:
1. Wall-Based Kitchen Art
2. Functional Art
3. Nature-Inspired Creations
4. Shelf Styling as Art
5. Creative & Playful Touches. Etc
- Join us at OnCare Skillz Hub to unlock your potential and embrace new skills in a supportive and nurturing environment.
