Receiving an Autism diagnosis is indeed a significant and unique experience for everyone. It's important to know that you are not alone. In 2019, 1 in 50 Canadian children and youth (2%) were diagnosed with Autism. Over the years, there has been tremendous growth in understanding, awareness, and support services for Autistic individuals.
You likely have many questions, and we're here to help. We offer a wide range of services and supports for Autistic children, teens, and adults, as well as their families and caregivers.
Here are some services that might be helpful to you:
- Early Intervention Programs: These programs are designed to support young children with Autism and their families. They focus on developing communication, social, and cognitive skills.
- Therapy Services: We offer various therapy services, including speech therapy, occupational therapy, and behavioral therapy, to help individuals with Autism develop essential skills.
- Support Groups: Joining a support group can provide a sense of community and understanding. It's a great way to connect with others who are going through similar experiences.
- Educational Support: We provide resources and support to help children with Autism succeed in school. This includes individualized education plans (IEPs) and specialized teaching strategies.
- Transition Services: For teens and young adults, we offer services to help with the transition to adulthood. This includes vocational training, job placement assistance, and life skills development.
